Bug Dialogue

One more quick story and then on to news about potty training!

About a week or so ago, Dan killed a small spider on the wall above our garbage can and then threw it away. Gabe was there to witness this event, and a couple days ago saw a little speck on the same wall. He asked me if it was a bug, and I told him it wasn't, but he clearly remembered the spider situation. Then he said, "We should not die bugs. That would not be very nice. You know where bugs don't like to go? The garbage." (In this context die = kill.)

This just cracked me up.

I never know where the fine line is for bug killing. I'm big on saying, "No no, it's a living creature, don't kill it" but then offer her grubs from the yard to step on or squish. If he's anything like Charlotte, you'll be hearing about the bug killing fields for a year or so.

This made me laugh. That is too funny. We should not die bugs...LOL! It's funny that they watch every little thing we do.
