Caleb has been in the habit for quite some time now of wiping off every single kiss you try to plant on him. And don't even think of giving or getting a smooch on the lips. This boy is quick as lighting when it comes to dodging a kiss.
We had parent teacher conference for him tonight. His teacher said he's doing great, knows all his letters and numbers, gets along well with other, etc. She also said he indicated he could count to 1,000. She "spot tested" him by asking what comes after certain larger numbers, like 299, and he got all of them right. But it reminded me of one night when I was putting him to bed. Again, he had indicated he could count to 1,000, but told him it was time to go to sleep and we'd have to count to 1,000 another time. About 30 minutes later (it usually take him a bit to get to sleep), he proudly announced he had counted all the way to 1,000 in his head. The wheels are literally always turning in his little head!
Gabe has been waking up around 6 every morning, getting himself dressed, coming downstairs and pouring himself a bowl of cereal (with milk), eating breakfast and then making himself a sandwich for lunch. I have no idea where this new found independence came from, but we'll take it! He's been so proud of himself and it sure helps the morning go more smoothly!
Dan officially finished his first semester this morning and will end up with As in all his classes. To celebrate, he took to the boys out today to get a new basketball hoop. They were thrilled, and it's sure to be a fun summer!
